The EU F-gas Regulation bans SF6 and other F-gases in medium voltage switchgear and electrical equipment from 1st January 2026. SF6 is the most potent greenhouse gas commonly used in electrical switchgear in data centers and other infrastructure, and as such poses a significant environmental challenge. The necessity to take climate action and comply with upcoming regulation mandates urgent transition away from F-gases.
Watch the webinar hosted by DataCenterDynamics featuring Stephane Lucas, SF6-Free Program Leader and Thierry Chamayou, Vice President Cloud & Service Providers to understand the implications of the regulation, the available technology shifts, and what data center operators should be doing now to prepare.
The speakers discuss:
-
Challenges and details regarding fluorinated gases and SF6
-
Why is this regulation important?
-
How Schneider Electric uses pure air and vacuum MV innovation to replace SF6
-
What action should Data Center operators take to prepare.
Find out how embracing this change now can help data center operators decarbonize their operations, meet sustainability goals, and ensure readiness for the upcoming ban.
