New Zealand Business Sustainability Index, 2022: transforming intention to outcomes

Investigating corporate New Zealand’s position on sustainability and energy efficiency, presenting a unique perspective of the move from intention to outcomes on the net zero agenda.

Corporate New Zealand see sustainability as a priority but most lack the guidance to convert will to action. Research conducted on behalf of Schneider Electric surveyed 300 decision-makers and the findings reveal that 96% of respondents have noticed the benefits of adopting sustainable solutions yet less than a third (28%) have the ability to benchmark their performance. Close to one-third (32 percent) say the biggest barrier is a lack of government incentives for sustainable technology adoption.
